When working with the Shipment Monitoring functionality of SmartView, it is possible to provide flight information with a Shipment. SmartView will attempt to retrieve the flight and its related events from 3rd party services. However, it may be that the flight events are not displayed in SmartView for various reasons:
- Delay
There will always be some delay between providing the flight information in SmartView and the events being displayed in SmartView. Typically, for historical or current flights this delay should not be more than 4 hours. When a flight is close to taking off, in flight, or has just arrived, the actual flight events may only become available several minutes or hours later - Flight information not available
SmartView retrieves its flight information from 3rd party services. There is no guarantee that each and every flight is available. Therefore, it may be that your flight or its related events are never listed. You can verify this by using the 3rd party services directly. At the moment SmartView has integrations with the following services:
FlightAware - Flight too far in the future
If you provide flight information with a Shipment that is too far in the future, it may happen that the entire flight is not even recognised. If that is the case, you can try providing the flight information again closer to the actual flight date.
